This session will include a short overview of the history of Jewish communities in the western Balkans and will mainly focus on the period of the Yugoslav wars, and the connection between the Jewish communities, despite these communities’ countries being at war with one another.  It will also look at the role the Jewish organizations played in helping people of all religions and nationalities during the siege of Sarajevo.
